At SWDT, our journey began with a simple act of helping a friend navigate the challenges of dog ownership. Fueled by my passion for canine psychology and volunteering in shelters, I offered training sessions, sparking a chain reaction of referrals that formed our foundation. Our philosophy centers on recognizing the uniqueness of each dog, addressing issues through the magic formula: exercise, discipline, and love – in that precise order. While love is essential, understanding the distinct psychology of dogs is crucial.

Louise Bidgood12 May 2024Had Jose to help me with my 2 dogs today who on walks pull, jump and bark, after some fab help training not only my dogs but me aswell we went on a walk with 2 completely behaved dogs and a walk i enjoyed, im looking forward to continuing and using all advice i was given. Stephen Hopkins10 May 2024well we had a 2 yr old staffie called Ronnie he was aggressive towards other dogs and strangers.we were recommened Jose by a friend.after 2 walking sessions and a walk with a pack of dogs Ronnie had never met.Jose had our dog for one week,well the difference when i picked him up was a pleasure to see.Jose and i went for a long walk in park in Cwmbran .You see its not only the dog he trains its the owner as well.there i was walking Ronnie around a park (he did have a muzzle on) off the lead and our dog interacting with other dogs.it put a big smile on my face.So if you have a troublesome dog Jose will i am sure sort them out.we are still learning every day and Ronnie is getting better and better.i would highly recommened Jose and the South Wales Dog Training service.
Page Parry10 May 2024Absolutely amazing! José is so professional and patient, my dog isn’t the easiest, not trained at all, he knows exactly what he is doing and made me feel at ease straight away! I’ve never seen anyone so amazing with animals, my dog done things I have never seen her do before and I was honestly amazed! I would recommend José 100%, I haven’t stopped telling everyone about him! Thank you so much
Aimee Kent9 May 2024Jose at South Wales Dog Training is absolutely amazing, he is friendly, knowledgeable and informative. Our Luna stayed with him for 2 weeks, and he provided regular updates on her progress. We also received a guided session when we collected her, on how to continue her progress at home. Jose is very passionate, thorough, caring and consistent. We are greatful to of found such a great trainer for Luna, the results speak volumes. Highly Recommended. Thank you ????

Anthony Tudgay10 March 2024Today we took Marley for a walk normally he’ll pull all the way but after five minutes walking with Jose Marley was a different dog . Josa is very knowledgeable and hands on with his training sessions i would highly recommend him to anyone seeking training with there dogs

Craig Roberts26 February 2024We asked Jose to work with our 7 month old Labrador, Mabel, to try and get on top of her jumping and pulling. The weather was disgraceful but his relaxed manner and understanding of Mabel and what makes her tick made up for the rain. Mabel was walking calmly next to my wife within minutes of being shown a new technique and we’re all now enjoying walks a lot more. Couldn’t recommend South Wales Dog Training highly enough
Danielle Hillberg23 January 2024Jose is honestly amazing at what he does! He is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to dogs. I have a 9 year old and a 7 year old french bulldogs. My younger dog has had many issues since a puppy and I had pretty much given up and accepted that was just the way he is. My mum had been using Jose services with her puppy GSD and highly recommended him and his partner. He visited my house as he assured me the problems I am experiencing out on a walk all start at home. Within the hour I couldn’t believe my eyes, it was like I was looking at a different dog. I practised what he had taught me every day and it worked! I then had a second session a few days later to work on walking issues with having two dogs, and it was amazing! I now have exercises to practise on my own daily to work on keeping the dogs calm. He is very thorough in explaining why he does the things he does and why they work. It all clicks into place and makes sense! I am really looking forward to our next session as we are building up to get my younger dog friendly with other dogs! I am so pleased. If you feel like your dog is too old or a lost cause, trust me have a session with Jose and it will change your life!
Julie Wood-Antill18 January 2024Jose has been amazing with our very excitable 9 month old lurcher, we could not control her she had bitten us and another dog. After 10 days with Jose she is like a different dog, he has also had to train us as we are making her behavior worse. He is very passionate about dog training and uses different techniques, he loves our dog, it's lovely to see her happily walking away from us to spend a bit longer training with him, which is very reassuring we know she is in safe hands and her improvement is astonishing. Definitely recommend.
